From the heart of an entrepreneur #1 |

As part of a new series of BLOG items. I will share with you a series of from the heart articles as an entrepreneur. From now on you can expect an article every now and then. I call this article "Lost Generation future or futureless".
2012 will be a year of great challenges, but most of all of change and empowerment. We believe that there is only one joint goal, which is to achieve the results we are all aiming for. But how can we do this, while there is so much chaos and uncertainty surrounding us. While many people are wondering how can we deal with the global economic uncertainty. Will there still be a EURO next year, and if so wat kind of EURO wil it be. What happens with all the political instability we see in various parts of the world. And how can we share and access the various natural resources.
Creating better and equal opportunities in a world that stands before its greatest challenge since WWII. It is of the utmost importance that we turn and look at ourselves. I see and hear lots of young people asking themselves, I don't know what to study or I don't like me job. I would like to do things that are fun, in live and work. Even today I spoke to a parent who was wondering how to help his kids in being able to support themselves. And have them create their own future opportunities. Can you help me in finding a job or do you have a job. Its becoming an even greater challenge as large corporations are cutting back their staff.
And believe it or not, but many young and/or recently graduated employees would like to work for a major company or an industry leader. While lacking the required experience or is it no longer a requirement. At times they would like to start a business for themselves. And sometimes I believe they have all the answers to major issues that have been lingereing around for many years. But why not join a smaller company that can have more team-spirit, not teen-spirit. Bring your fresh new insights to those that are not seeing the opportunities that you as a potential new employee see in a broad variety of market places. Also share your knowledge of social media, an your bright ideas. If you are interested and think that you can help us, and would like to join our team. I herewith invite you to contact us.
Today's parents to young adults are coping with new challenges themselves. As kids return home, while having to support theirselves by means of a pension or less income, Since one of two parents might be out of a job. And all of this while still paying your final payments on your mortgage.
An interesting global trend has been the move back home of kids, aged 25-34 years, into their elderly home. Is this the so desired indepence and greater wealth they are both looking for. I personally don't think so. However it is a necessity based move. Lack of funds and clear goals. As well as a lack of willingness to really go through the grind and go through pitfalls and hardships has made a large group numb to reality. As such a noticeable way to reach the spotlight has been by asserting themselves against (parts) of society. The graphic below applies to the US, for the period 1983 through 2010. It is noticeable that as of 2003 there has been a rapid change in the US demographics; graphic sourced from The Huffington Post, 12/10/10.
This however is not only limited to the US. I've noticed that these developments are also noticeable in the Netherlands, the Carribean, some Asian and Latin American countries as well. Primary reason being that new homes have become unaffordable for young and new employees. The unwillingness of banks to provide them with mortgages unless there are more than sufficient guarantees. Guarantees which should at least be provided by parents or employers. However, these longterm guarantees can rarely be provided for. Thus encouraging the creation of even more multi-generation households.

Can we change things and if so how. Let's start by not forgetting that society is not only changed through technology. But its predominantly changed by us individuals. Let us improve our joint efforts in bringing forth the required changes. By working together and not against each other.
Our team of designers, marketeers, and free-lancers are looking forward to picking-up this challenge. |
